I’m excited to be part of the project, Drawing the Canada-Wide Science Fair.
As I have no experience with science fairs, this will be a unique experience for me. My practice of photography involves drawing. I draw to work through ideas for my photographs. This process helps me visualize my images before they become photographs. As a photographer, interacting with people and adapting to unfamiliar environments and circumstances is part of my practice. Making a photograph is always a risky enterprise. Often, a “failed” image leads me to new insights. I’m looking forward to experience the science fair, its atmosphere, and to embrace the challenge that drawing spontaneously there reveals for me.
